Conservatory Program

Pre-professional training for the well rounded dancer. Conservatory students receive comprehensive training for their level and age, along with extra performance opportunities throughout the season. *Prices listed are due the 1st of each month through May 2025, classes continue through June 9th, 2025. Annual Registration Fee $25 per family valid through Summer 2025. Students enrolled in Conservatory are featured in the Nutcracker Tea as well as the Year End Performance on Saturday, May 31st, 202

Conservatory I

Ages 8-11 


Students are required to attend two ballet classes per week, as well as pre-pointe/men's steps. Students are required to take Progressing Ballet Technique, Repertoire, and at least one other style.

Conservatory II

$415

Ages 12-14


Students are required to attend three ballet classes a week along with Pointe, as well as Progressing Ballet Technique, Repertoire, and at least one other style.

Conservatory III

$450

Ages 14 & up 


Students are required to attend three ballet classes a week along with two Pointe classes, as well as Progressing Ballet Technique, Repertoire, and at least two other styles.

Repertoire

Students learn new and classic choreography and have they opportunity to perform throughout the year. *Must be enrolled in Conservatory.

Ballet

Students enrolled in any of these classes have the option of participating in the Year End Performance on Saturday, May 31st, 2025, there is a $25 Costume Collection Fee per student for those participating (this is waived for 2024 Nutcracker Tea participants). Ballet I

Ages 8-11 

(Conservatory students must attend Tuesdays and Saturdays, All-Styles students may choose which day or days they would like to attend).


Tuesdays 6-7pm


Saturdays 10:45-11:45am, Pre-Pointe/Men's Steps 11:45-12pm

Ballet II/III

Ages 12 up

Mondays 6-7:30pm

Tuesdays 6:30-8pm, 8-8:30pm Pointe

Fridays 4-5:30pm, 6:30-7:00pm Pointe

Progressing Ballet Technique

A system of exercises that promotes strength, alignment, and flexibility through muscle memory.

All Styles - Conservatory Students Choose their Style(s)

Modern/Contemporary

Modern/Contempoary is a highly expressive and freeform style that focuses on fluid movements and draws inspiration from various dance styles. Students will learn modern dance technique, including suspension, release, fall, and recovery, as well as improvisation. Classes will also cover the styles of the founders of modern dance, such as Horton, Duncan, Graham, and Cunningham.

Modern/Cont. II/III - ages 12 & up - Tuesdays 6-7pm


Hip Hip

Hip hop dance is a street dance form that evolved from hip hop culture and music. It includes elements from various styles and began as a freestyle dance performed in the streets. Techniques involve body isolations and unique movements like popping, locking, and krumping.


Hip Hop I - ages 8-11 - TBA

Hip Hop II/III ages 12 & up TBA

Acrobatics

Acro is the combination of traditional dance and the dynamic athleticism of acrobatics. Seamlessly integrating musicality, emotional storytelling, and impressive acrobatic feats, drawing from the rich heritage of Chinese dance and the creativity of modern circus performances. Acro demands proficiency in both dance and acrobatics, encompassing elements such as equilibrium, tumbling, and physical power.


Acro I/II/III - ages 8 up - Thursdays 5:30-6:30pm


Jazz

Jazz dance is a vibrant form of dance that fuses African and European dance styles. It combines lively expressions with sharp yet fluid movements, often incorporating isolations. Today, jazz encompasses a variety of styles including Broadway, hip-hop, funk, Afro-Caribbean, Latin, pop, and tap dance.


TBA

Tap

Rhythmic sounds using tap shoes, Tap originated in the seventeenth century but became popular in America in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Tap dance is characterized by its syncopated beats and improvisational choreography, and it is closely associated with jazz music.


Tap I - ages 8-11 - Thursdays  TBA

Tap II/III - ages 12 & up - TBA

Intro to Baton/Twirling Ages 6-10

Baton twirling will focus on the fundamentals of twirling technique with a focus on coordination, flexibility, and body control.  It will mix elements of dance and acrobatics with the use of a baton.  The student will learn to use the baton to create a visual pattern with speed, dexterity, and fluidity. They will learn the foundation of baton twirling elements based on the IBTF’s compulsories.
