About Dirigo Conservatory of Movement
Our Mission
Like the state of Maine's motto, Dirigo Conservatory of Movement's mission is to lead the area in movement education.
We are focused on quality age and ability appropriate movement education in order to support the mind, body, and soul of our students. The core value of DCM is continuous education, allowing us to offer the leading education in each format/style of movement offered.
Our Programs
We are a dance and movement studio offering a variety of classes for all ages and levels, including ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, Pilates and more. Our programs are designed to promote physical fitness, artistic expression, and personal growth. We offer classes for ages 2 through adult!
DCM values education and performance over competition. Students enrolled in our Conservatory program have performance opportunities throughout the year. Students ages 3-18 enrolled in other programs have the opportunity to participate in our Year End Performance; a storyline production of 1-1.5 hours.
Rather than purchasing a $65-$150 costume we are putting together our Costume Collection, students will rent from the costume shop for a small fee and costumes will be re-used in future productions. The small rental fee allows us to update the collection and make alterations when necessary.
